Thank you for your efforts and the information shared this morning. I have one question that occurred to me later in the day. In response to the statement that UCSD has ample acreage to expand in the future, I am wondering why they approached First Church with an offer to purchase all of our land. In other words if they won't need the land I'm wondering what you might think their intent might be.

And how might I access your response - by email perhaps?

UCSD has learned both at Hillcrest and at La Jolla that they really want to control as much contiguous land around them as possible. And we are truly the only bit of land on “their mesa” that they don’t control. If we had immediately said Yes 2 years ago, they probably would have incorporated us into their new plan.

As it is, if we choose to sell, they can easily incorporate us into their residential build out plans. The last part of those plans, for 2030-2033, are two tall buildings just north of us. They can add a third and a fourth on our place, or just hold on until the next big plan, which they will start work on in 2035.

By the way, for a lot of reasons, the last thing they will do is seek eminent domain. Not only do they need to prove they need the land (and building housing is not a core mission for them), but the process is cumbersome and very costly.
