Serve the homeless in our community

Uptown Community Service Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego.  It is run by dedicated volunteers and provides services to over 2,000 homeless and very-low income persons each year.  We help our neighbors in need by providing information and referrals, mailbox & message center, computer center with internet access and use of fax and telephones, food clothing & hygiene supplies. People of Faith Helping Neighbors

The mission of the Uptown Community Service Center is to help homeless and low-income people, without discrimination, to become self-supporting members of the community. Local congregations and supporters serve neighbors through mail and message service, computer and phone access, referrals, supplemental food and hygiene items, distribution of donated clothing. Volunteers offer respect and encouragement to support dignity and hope.
Uptown Community Service Center has MOVED
They have moved to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The current address is 3725 30th Street, San Diego, CA 92104.

Get involved

  • Take part in Uptown's fundraising events and drives.
  • Volunteer 3 hours a week or twice a month.
  • Bring socks, shampoo, soap, granola bars to the gray bin next to the Social Justice Table on the Hillcrest Campus patio on Sundays.
  • Help us spread the word, visit the Social Justice Table between services to pick up UCSC business cards to give to homeless people, or folks who want to donate. 
  • Support community efforts for affordable housing and resources to help housing challenged people.
