Dining for Dollar$ is now - The CommUUnity Connections Auction
Dining for Dollar$ (D4$) has a new brand... The CommUUnity Connections Auction is our semi-annual fundraising auction. For those who are new to First Church, Dining for Dollar$ (D4$) began in 2005 and has since become one of our most popular social event collections, hosted by various members throughout the year. Our hosts, comprised of church members and friends, offer a variety of engaging events such as dinners, luncheons, tours, adventures, services, and workshops.
We hold two auctions. The first auction (Summer/Fall Edition) takes place in May for events occurring from June through November. The second auction (Winter/Spring Edition) occurs in November for events scheduled from December through May. This format was adopted at the request of many participants, as scheduling events far in advance posed challenges for both hosts and bidders. Not only do we auction of spaces to attend fun event, we donors also auction professional services, handmade goods and art objects.
The auctions revolve around the concept of creating and hosting events for fellow church members, their families, and friends. Above all, these events remain highly anticipated within our church community throughout the year. Our church members and friends host numerous events that provide opportunities for us to connect in various ways. Some of the categories of events and items are:

- Casual dining or BBQ's
- Specialty events like a cultural event, something to do with the arts, sciences or learning opportunities.
- Stay/vacation rental opportunities.
- Hikes, tours, and outings.
- Family fun, or other playtime events such as, game night, card party, petting zoo, or karaoke.
- Professional service offers like doing taxes, counseling, end of life planning, or photography sessions.
- Wellness events, like a massage session, spa treatment, meditation or mindfulness event.
- Items like hand knit items, jewelry, or art pieces.
