The Spring/Summer auction season is upon us!
In last year's auction we raised over $30,000 thanks to your participation! We hope the various events and activities you've won have been great fun. We are now gathering events, outings, vacation rentals, objects, and services for Summer/Fall. These are events scheduled from 5/1/24 thru 11/30/25 (7 months).

What is Dining for Dollar$?Dining for Dollar$ (D4$) is our semi-annual fundraising auction. For those who are new to First Church, Dining for Dollar$ (D4$) began in 2005 and has since become one of our most popular social event collections, hosted by various members throughout the year. Our hosts, comprised of church members and friends, offer a variety of engaging events such as dinners, luncheons, tours, adventures, services, and workshops.
Once again, this year we will hold two auctions. The first auction takes place in April for events occurring from May through November. The second auction will occur in October for events scheduled from November 2025 through April of 2026. This format was adopted at the request of many participants, as scheduling events far in advance posed challenges for both hosts and bidders. Dining for Dollar$ revolves around the concept of creating and hosting events for fellow church members, their families, and friends. Above all, D4$ events remain highly anticipated within our church community throughout the year. Our church members and friends host numerous events that provide opportunities for us to connect in various ways. Whether it’s fine dining or a casual meal or barbeque, a hike followed by picnic, a beach bonfire, lawn bowling at Balboa Park, or other adventures, these are just some examples of these enjoyable gatherings. Maybe you have a vacation property you would like to lend for a weekend or two. We also encourage those who wish to offer services like tax preparation, personal coaching, or maybe you wish to sell some artwork or other antiquities or goods to sell. We encourage you to brainstorm ideas for hosting. Collaborative hosting with friends can make the events more manageable and enjoyable to organize. We will be accepting event, services and item submissions between 3/2 – 4/6/2025, with bidding taking place over three Sundays starting 4/13/2025. Let us strengthen our community engagement through these shared experiences! |
