Young Adults at First Church
Young Adults ages 18-35 are involved in many facets of First UU Church of San Diego. In addition to the opportunities described below, young adults serve on the Intern Committee, the Social Justice Ministry Team, the Membership Committee, the Board of Trustees and as Religious Education leaders. Young Adults serve as ushers, greeters, choir members, on district committees and are involved in special projects. We look forward to helping you find a home here.
Fourth Sunday Brunch
All young adults ages 18-35 and their guests, parents and significant others out of this age range are invited to meet at the Young Adult Campus Ministry table on the patio on the fourth Sunday after the second service and walk/carpool to the restaurant of the day around 1:00 pm.
Bridging
Yes there is life and connection after YRUU. The Bridging Program involves retreats and a Bridging Ceremony. The Bridging Ceremony symbolizes the passage from youth to young adulthood and celebrates the connection to the UU Community. It is held in the Spring, usually around Memorial Day. If you are eighteen and/or will soon graduate from high school, plan to participate in The Bridging Program. We’ll explore possibilities after youth group, talk about what it means to be a UU Young Adult and to be moving into adulthood. Going away to college? Moving? Stay connected. Find out how at the Bridging Workshop.
Our Whole Lives (OWL)
OWL is a comprehensive human sexuality education program for ages 18-35. For more info see our OWL page.
