Interfacing with our larger UU family
The denominational relations team supports activities that connect First Church to our larger UU family. It also serves as a link with the cluster, district and continental UU organizations.

Pacific Southwest Service Area Assembly and Camp de Benneville Pines Annual Meeting
April 26-28 2024 at Ventura and ZOOM
With the dissolution of the Pacific Southwest District (PSWD), the PSWSA serves as an annual assembly for catching up with friends, workshops, entertainment and the de Benneville Camp Annual Meeting to elect board members, hear camp director and president reports as well as pass the camp budget. This year the assembly is held in Ventura, CA.on April 26-28. By the way, next year this assembly will be held at our church, First UU San Diego.
We are allowed 10 delegates to attend either in-person at the Ventura UU Church or by ZOOM. Most of the workshops and business meeting will be on zoom but in-person attendees will also be treated to an Emma’s Revolution concert of beloved folk music. First UU SD is offering free registration and carpooling this year.

General Assembly (GA)
June 20-23, 2024 - ZOOM only
GA is the annual meeting of our UUA. Participants worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic processes. Anyone may attend but only delegates can vote. First UU gets 10 delegates. This year First UU is offering to pay our delegates’ full registration fees.

Be a Delegate to the PSWSA assembly and/or General Assembly
If you have been a member of First UU for at least one year, you are eligible and encouraged to represent First Church as a delegate at our faith’s annual national gatherings in-person or by ZOOM. Application deadline: June 2, 2024.
