by Maureen McNair Thanks so to hundreds of individual donors, our South Bay Food Pantry will continue operating in a new space once in-person services resume at our Chula Vista campus. We are not moving far, either. We are staying in the same strip mall as the worship space and social hall. In fact, we will be moving into the suite adjacent to the social hall. So, our South Bay church is expanding its footprint. Our new location will enable us to continue to serve with
convenience the many people who know where to find us each month The suite we to which we are moving is currently occupied. The existing tenant has occupancy until the beginning of October, so no one is contacting the tenant. Meanwhile, the food pantry will continue operating as usual. Once we have keys to the new suite, we will go inside for the first time. None of us have had the opportunity to tour or inspect it yet. From discretely peeking through the front window, we know the pantry will need to make improvements that fit our operation. Plus, we are going to widen the front door so we can use a lift to move wooden pallets of food and diapers inside with ease. In addition to distributing from the new suite, the pantry will continue to use some of the space in the suite with the South Bay office. We currently have a couple refrigerators and a chest freezer in there plus heavy duty shelving in three rooms. The strip mall owner also offered us some outdoor space where we will put a storage shed. South Bay services, social events, and meetings will start up again once the food and diaper pantry are able to relocate and the existing spaces are thoroughly cleaned. Watch The Window for announcements. On behalf of over 50 volunteers, thank you all so much for your continued enthusiasm and support!
