Reproductive Justice There is one more national UU event in January, the anniversary month of Roe v Wade, January 25-26 (Full day virtual conference): SACReD Gathering: Faith Communities Reclaiming Reproductive Dignity and Autonomy (Details and Registration link here) produced by Side with Love, LREDA (Liberal Religious Educators Association), and the Unitarian Universalist Ministers’ Association. Reproductive Justice - National Virtual Meeting in January The Fight Continues: A Virtual Celebration of the 49th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 27, 6-7pm. The Fight Continues: The Power of Storytelling. This San Diego Coalition for Reproductive Justice (SDCRJ) event will bring together speakers and awardees who are responding to threats to our civil rights in important ways. Join us to learn more about: current US Supreme Court updates from Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (PPPSW); General Counsel Tracy Skaddan, the impact of SB8 from Planned Parenthood Greater Texas; Regional Medical Director Dr. Amna Dermish; and an update on current abortion access in California from Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity (URGE) Organizer Jessy Rosales. Peace and Democracy: February 5, 1:00 pm, Military Spending, Nuclear Arms, and the Environment https://bit.ly/MSNAandEnvironment This event, is hosted by First UU in conjunction with a visit to San Diego by the GOLDEN RULE FOUNDATION PEACE BOAT. Saturday, February 5 at 1:00 pm, attend a free webinar examining the relationship between military spending (especially for nuclear arms), military and nuclear impacts on climate and environment, and the potential to avert the climate crisis. Please join us for our spring session of the Transgender Inclusion Workshop, February 27 — April 10, 1 pm — 2:30 pm. We will gather on Zoom, and for six of these seven Sundays we will discuss a 45-55 minute video, which we view on our own time. The final Sunday we plan to implement what we’ve learned into our community. All are welcome! The course is free to participants.
