This week's story for Children's Religious Education
We are using a curriculum called Picture Book Unitarian Universalism, written by Katie Covey. Each lesson is based around a picture book that illustrated our Unitarian Universalist identity. This week’s story is Old Turtle. It’s about a time when all of creation began to argue about who or what God is. Old Turtle shows wisdom and the ability to see beyond herself. Read through the lesson plan and see what supplies are already available. One activity calls for playdough, which you may or may not have. If you want to make it yourself, view a homemade playdough recipe. The book has been scanned and read-aloud so your child(ren) can enjoy the pictures right on your screen. Don’t feel you have to do all the activities—have fun! Download the Old Turtle Lesson Plan.

This week’s story is The Big Orange Splot. It’s about a man, Mr. Plumbean, that celebrates his own self-expression—something that we Unitarian Universalists value.
