This Labor Day weekend, we invite you to join us for a powerful service centered on the dignity of labor, the history of working-class movements, and our ongoing call to build a just world.

Throughout history, the struggle for workers' rights has been deeply interwoven with communities of faith. As we reflect on the lessons of the past—including the structural inequities and courageous resistance of the Gilded Age—we ask ourselves: How are we called to show up in solidarity today? How do we live into our core values of love, equity, interdependence, and justice when people’s livelihoods and well-being are on the line?

Whether you are a lifelong union member, a worker navigating today's economy, or someone seeking to align your spiritual life with social justice, there is a place for you in this circle.

What to Expect in Worship
Our Labor Day service is designed to ground us in both historical memory and present-day action:

• Movement Songs: We’ll raise our voices together in hymns and solidarity songs that have sustained labor and civil rights movements across generations.
• Worker Testimony: Hear direct, firsthand powerful testimony from local workers currently organizing for a union contract right here in our community.
• Reflective Message: Rev. Kristen Kuriga will deliver the sermon, "Lessons from the Gilded Age," exploring what the late 19th-century labor struggles can teach us about our modern economy and our spiritual mandate to stand with working people.

We offer two gathering times across our campus locations to welcome you into community:

• 10:00 AM at the Hillcrest Campus (4190 Front St)
• 2:00 PM at the South Bay Campus (shared with St John's, 760 1st Ave, Chula Vista)
