We're celebrating our sesquecentennial!First Universalist Church of San Diego was founded in 1873 so 2023 marks our 150th year of carrying the torch for liberal religion in San Diego. Our sesquicentennial celebration slogan is "Remember, Reflect, Realize/Recordar, Reflexionar, Realizar", which conveys how we are enjoying a bit nostalgia for our early days, pausing to take stock and dreaming about the future. From speakers to music and community events we have a lot in store to celebrate. We hope you'll join us at one of our upcoming events.

150th Festival a Hit!
Our 150th kickoff celebration on January 28th was a big hit. In the morning, members gathered to visit on the lower patio and enjoy the sunshine. Our sound therapist Terry provided healing sound sessions, which were very popular, while others enjoyed the meandering magician and fascinating historical art show by John Keasler, which lined the walls of Bard Hall.
Soon enough it was time for our short program in the Meeting House with special music and visiting dignitaries. Highlights included a message from council member Chris Ward (a church member) and San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, who delivered a special proclamation. Read more and view photos.
