2019 Coming of Age Program

The Coming of Age (CoA) program is designed for middle school youth (grades 6-8 or the equivalent for homeschooled youth)  and their parents. This is a very important time for adolescents and for their parents. We want to take the time to acknowledge this, to help our youth explore who they are and what they believe. We also want parents to know that, as a community, we are here for them as they go through this transition.

Each youth with have an adult mentor who will accompany them through the sessions.  The mentor should be an active member in the church and will be selected by the youth and their family. There will be one team of leaders working with the youth and their mentors, and another team working with the parents. The two sessions are held concurrently and we will have an opportunity for the groups to meet together for some activities.

The first information meeting for this year's CoA program  will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 in Room 114b at 1:00 pm. A second information meeting will be held at 10:45 am on June 9th, and a final check-in meeting with youth and mentors will be held on June 30th at 1 pm. The CoA classes for parents and youth will begin on Sunday July 7th, but a special team building event will take place on Friday, July 5th as we participate in the "Morning After Mess" Beach Clean up.

Summer Jazz Ensemble Returning - Summer 2019

The Summer Jazz Ensemble is a multigenerational jazz music experience for people of all ages. If you participated in last summer's Ensemble, come back and see what director Martin Arguelles has planned for this year! If you weren't able to participate last time, this is your chance to learn some jazz or hone your talents under the supportive leadership of our director. Don't play an instrument? We need vocalists, too! Keep an eye on the church newsletter, The Window, to see when rehearsals begin this summer.
