At 9:30 a.m. each Sunday we offer a curriculum-driven program for youth in grades 7 through 12. Based on Michelle Richards’ popular curricula, Popcorn Theology and Popcorn Theology, youth and their advisors explore various moral, spiritual and ethical issues through the use of movies that illustrate a particular theme, issue or question. The youth also join their families once a month in the meeting house to worship together.
Our 11:30 a.m. Sunday programs for Junior High and Senior High youth are discussion-driven and run by the youth and their advisors during the Sunday morning worship service. Once a month, Junior and Senior High youth vote on which worship service to attend. They also participate in various community service activities selected by the youth and their advisors. Hands-on social justice projects are also a component of the program. Youth leadership roles are encouraged and supported throughout the program in ways that are appropriate for the ages and maturity of the youth. At the 11:30 a.m. program, discussion topics range from Unitarian Universalist identity, various aspects of spirituality and world religions to relationship concerns, the environment and other relevant contemporary issues.
Several other offerings occur at times other than Sunday morning; these activities vary and include a Coming of Age Program, Our Whole Lives – a comprehensive Human Sexuality Program, Junior or Senior High overnights and events and other opportunities for multigenerational interaction
