It seems like everywhere I turn someone is asking for my information. Why does the grocery store need my name and address? Why would I share my date of birth before I buy my movie ticket? Maybe you have had similar experiences. When it comes to giving out personal information I like to play my cards pretty close to my chest. When people start asking for information about those for whom we are responsible (like our kids), those cards come even closer. There are a lot of safety concerns that make guarding information about ourselves, our families and our kids good practice.
Knowing that reality why would we as a congregation ask for families to register their children as a part of being active in the Children's Religious Education?
We ask families to register for 2 main reasons:
- We care about their safety and well being. We ask you to register so that we have the information we need to keep your child(ren) safe. We ask for information about their needs for a safe environment (like allergies) and who to contact in case there is any sort of emergency.
- We care about their learning. We ask you to register so we have the information we need to create learning environments where they can thrive. By telling us about their ability needs, interests, and personalities you help us engage them as an individual within a community committed to their learning.
That is why we ask you, dear parent/guardian(s), to register your child(ren) for their Religious Education programs.
You can help us keep your children safe so that they can focus on learning and building community by registering today! Registration is quick and easy and can be done online by clicking here.
Thank you for journeying with us on the adventure of religious education!
