The Transformers team has been hard at work this fall at the South Bay Campus. At our most recent meeting we explored how our space reflects our values, with a focus on welcoming families and children. We also talked about the qualities of worshipful art and the idea of a community mural in the social hall. Our next steps include reaching out to artists to create 3-4 new images for the front of the worship space and collaborating with a Professor and students from Southwestern College on the mural. We are in the process of hiring a Sunday morning child care provider, and reimagining our spaces to provide care for families with children. By the end of this year we also hope to have our overhead lighting changed to all LED lights, and a new sound system installed. Here are a few of our accomplishments so far—thank-you to all of the amazing leaders who have made this happen!
-decluttering & reorganizing the social hall through a Sunday afternoon work party
-moving drum set & creating more space for musicians & worship leaders
-purchasing, blessing & using new interpretation equipment
-meeting with landlord, change in AC filters, working on visible signage from street, improving ventilation from beauty school & beauty parlor, LED light installation
-reaching out to artists for new art in the worship space & potential community mural in the social hall with students from Southwestern College
