My year-end message to the UUs of the South Bay - Mar Cárdenas

I am so truly blessed to be part of the this new UU campus in Chula Vista. It has been an amazing experience!
A new year now approaches, and a world of opportunities presents itself before us.

How will we invest our precious resources of time and energy so that we can accomplish the goals that we have set out for us, even more effectively than before?

As we go forward, many unforeseeable challenges await us; many lives will be touched and affected by our combined decisions and, because of that, it’s vital for us to remain united as one and to make the best possible use of our collective wisdom and talents.

That’s why it’s so important to take time to reflect, every now and then, on the lessons that we have learned from the many actions that we have been part of, up until now.

We must be conscious as well of how those experiences have changed us, the way we see the world around us, and the way we interact with people which we may not otherwise have had made contact with.

We have done much so far, considering the small size of our spiritual community, and I wish I could say that we have done enough but I’m afraid much remains to be done.

We must continue to reach out and inspire others, alone we are limited, together we are unstoppable!

We have a gift that is much needed in the South Bay community, in our country, and in the world, please help me share it. People need to know about Unitarian Universalism.

One thing I can be sure of is that we will continue to face whatever comes our way, united by our common values and beliefs, and by the power that overcomes all barriers, the power of Love.

May it be so.
