Morning After Mess – Beach Cleanup on July 5th
Wednesday, July 5 from 8 am -11 am, Belmont Park. Want to live our 7th UU Principle? Want to make a difference? Then join the volunteers from the 1st UU Youth Program and help us clean up Mission Beach after the holiday weekend. All interested youth, parents, young adults and adult allies are invited to assemble in the parking lot of Belmont Park at 8 am for a morning of community service and fun. We’ll help clean up the beach until 11 am, and then head over to Luigi’s at the Beach for a pizza and pasta lunch. Bags and gloves will be provided for the beach cleanup, but the Surfrider Foundation strongly encourages volunteers to bring their own reusable ones to support their campaign to “Rise Above Plastics.” Come out and help the Surfrider Foundation help our beaches, protect our planet and live UU values. Be sure to wear close-toed shoes, a hat and sunscreen, and bring money for lunch. Contact Käthe Larick at 619-298-9978, ext 210 if you want to come. See you on July 5 at Belmont Park!
