To donate a vehicle, call our toll-free car donation phone number (877) 537-5277. You can also donate on-line.
If you have a car you’ve outgrown or no longer need and don’t want to deal with the immense work of selling it, please consider donating it to First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego. Donating your car is easy, stress-free and is a wonderful way to support Miracle Sunday (Capital Campaign 2) to ensure we will complete our campus renovation project.
Almost all cars are accepted - even if your car has engine trouble and/or can’t pass a smog test. Your car does not need to run, but it must have an engine and be towable. We can even accept vehicles without a smog certificate or current registration. (Cars that are in extremely poor condition or out of our tow range may be declined, as the cost to tow them may be more than the value of the vehicle.)
All you have to do is contact us and a driver will pick up your vehicle from your home, business or repair shop, usually within 24 to 48 hours of your initial phone call. All you need is a clear title, and we'll take care of the rest, including pickup, there is no cost to you.
You can even donate trucks, RVs, boats, and motorcycles!
First UU Church works with a reputable nonprofit corporation, Charitable Auto Resources, Inc. (CARS™) provides services for car donations for over 500 charities and non-profit organizations throughout the United States.
Once your vehicle has been sold, you'll be sent a receipt for your tax records, and the sale proceeds will be donated to First UU Church of San Diego in your name. You may also receive a tax deduction! You will receive a tax benefit from the total sale and First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego will receive 70% of the sale price.
