Church Staff Happenings

Rev. Kathleen Owens Sabbatical

Our church, the UUA and the Ministers’ Association all recognize the importance of ministers having a sabbatical, and Kathleen will be going on her sabbatical soon. Her Letter of Agreement stipulates that she accumulates one month for every year served and can take up to four months after every four years. Her last sabbatical was in 2012/13. After postponing a year, she’s now taking 4 months this year. She’ll be gone from Sept. 25 — Nov. 18 back on Nov. 20 through the holiday season and gone again from Jan. 2 — Feb. 28, returning on March 1. The theme of her sabbatical is Sacred Geography. Read September’s First Words for details about her travels.

Angela Fujii

Angela Fujii’s is now our Cluster Social Justice Coordinator and will serve all five UU congregations in San Diego. She hopes to facilitate connection and collaboration between congregations, encourage learning and information exchange, and contribute to leadership development to increase our collective engagement and impact.

  • Our Differences Are Infinitesimal

"Our world hangs like a magnificent jewel in the vastness of space. Every one of us is a part of that jewel. A facet of that jewel. And in the perspective of infinity, our differences are infinitesimal."
