Congregational Forum

Sunday, October 21, 1 pm in Bard Hall. Your Futures Team, hosted by the Board of Trustees, will lead a conversation regarding UCSD’s master plan for a new Hillcrest campus and its impact on First Church. Please join us for this important dialogue. For information, please contact Robie Evans.

Rev. Kathleen Owens Sabbatical

Our church, the UUA and the Ministers’ Association all recognize the importance of ministers having a sabbatical, and Kathleen will be going on her sabbatical soon. Her Letter of Agreement stipulates that she accumulates one month for every year served and can take up to four months after every four years. Her last sabbatical was in 2012/13. After postponing a year, she’s now taking 4 months this year. She’ll be gone from Sept. 25 — Nov. 18 back on Nov. 20 through the holiday season and gone again from Jan. 2 — Feb. 28, returning on March 1. The theme of her sabbatical is Sacred Geography.
